I used the recipe in the book that came with the appliance which suggests soaking the rice first. It speeds up cooking by 2~6 times using up to 70% less energy and, above all, produces nutritious healthy food in a convenient and consistent fashion. It has passed stringent UL & ULC certification giving one uncompromised safety. The outside of the pot itself doesn’t get all that hot which says a lot for the insulation.
